Over the last few weeks at Roar, our team has been on a roll. We have had some solid new content releases, which is a result of a sharpened focus on our content creation process, improved planning on the types of content our audience want to read and the careful mapping of categories we want to service. We also introduced two new categories; Reports and Travel.

Up until recently, the Report type articles were categorized under Life in Sri Lanka, but we decided it deserved a section of its own. With a new section for Reports, you can expect comprehensive articles on current affairs, social issues and the other important aspects of Sri Lankan life. We also started an end of the week news article, which highlights the most important news stories from across the Island, and sometimes from across the world, in a bite size roundup.

Sri Lanka’s travel industry has been growing rapidly in the last few years as we all know, and what we figured was, there was no one place that you can go to find out about the awesome travel destinations our Island has to offer. Everyone has heard of the usual South/East coast beaches, the beautiful hills at the center of the country and the ancient ruins our ancestors left behind, but with Roar Travel we want to highlight lesser known travel destinations from across the Island. Destinations that provide adventure, are off the beaten track and not heavy on the wallet. This travel section has been on the cards for a while, and it’s only now that we have the infrastructure and the right team to pull it off. We also have some really cool contributors working on it with us. If you’d like to be one of them, drop us an email to [email protected]

With two new categories in, we also did a bit of restructuring to our existing categories. We decided to merge Startups and Tech into a powerhouse category called, no surprises, ‘Startups and Tech‘. It’s where you want to be for some great analysis on Sri Lanka’s technology scene and the everything you need to know about startups in Sri Lanka.

We welcomed two new fantastic writers this past month, Maryam Azwer and Roel Raymond, while our friend Praveen Jayasuriya has been hard at work trying to regularly contribute.

As our startup journey continues, as always, we appreciate feedback, good or bad, so say [email protected].
